David Bernay

David Bernay works with students from Colorado, Minnesota, North Carolina, Puerto Rico and any other state not listed on the Admission Counselor page. He also helps Americans outside the U.S. and International students. Here he shares his insights about St. Edward's University.

What’s your favorite thing about St. Edward’s?

Our student body is so diverse. On any given day you can walk across campus and hear our students speaking Portuguese, Spanish, Arabic and French! International students play a big role in shaping our campus culture and often inspire their American counterparts to want to study abroad at one of our partner universities around the world.

What's your favorite spot on campus?

Because I’m hopelessly addicted to caffeine, my favorite is Jo’s Coffeeshop in the Ragsdale Center. If I’m not at my desk, I can be found in line for a latte at Jo’s, chatting with faculty and students and catching up on what’s happening on campus.

What is something that people don’t know about St. Edward’s?

I think some students don’t realize the extent to which St. Edward’s will force them to go beyond their comfort zone and challenge their preconceived notions about the world. There is something special about exchanging ideas with classmates from all over the world who have a completely different perspective than you. St. Edward’s allows students to think critically about their work and to better understand the world they live in.
