Between Classes: Amenities for Commuter Students

We hope you enjoy your home on the hilltop, whether you live on or off campus. The amenities below are available to you.

Study Areas and Computer Labs

If you’re looking for a place to study or use a computer, the Munday Library is one of the best locations on campus. The library offers approximately 150 computers, free printing, quite zones and 16 private study rooms. In addition, most academic buildings and Ragsdale Center have computer labs and study spaces. Prefer to study outdoors? The benches under Sorin Oak are a favorite spot with Hilltoppers.

Hang Out Locations

Wondering where you can spend time between classes? Use this map as a reference. From dining halls and coffeeshops to outdoor shaded plazas and the Recreation and Convocation Center’s fitness center and pool, St. Edward’s has many indoor and outdoor locations for you, so be sure to take advantage of them!

Lockers

As a commuter student, you may be wondering where you can store your belongings on campus. Lockers are located at the Recreation and Convocation Center and are available for you to use. There is a $10 deposit fee for a lock and will be reimbursed at the end of the semester when the lock is returned.

Meal Plans

Full-time commuter students must purchase a $135 meal plan for food and beverages each semester. Students may add more money to the account if they would like. Learn more about meal plans. And explore the dining options on campus.

Microwaves

There are a few locations on campus that have microwaves available for student use. Locations include:

  • Ragsdale Suite 304: in the hallway by the back door (Ragsdale Center)
  • Kresge Room: in Ragsdale Center across the hall from South Congress Market (Ragsdale Dining Hall)
  • Science Lounge: second floor of John Brooks Williams Natural Sciences Center–North
  • Hunt Café: Residential Village

Recreation and Wellness

Take advantage of the many activities and programs offered by Recreation and Wellness, such as GroupX fitness classes, yoga, intramural sports and club sports.
