Message from the Director of Nursing

As the Founding Director of Nursing at St. Edward’s University, I want to offer you a Blue and Gold hilltop welcome from the Nursing Department! You will find no better place to live, learn and engage than St. Edward’s University. We have much to offer and a uniqueness you will find nowhere else.

Dramatic changes in the healthcare environment are impacting professional nursing practice in a variety of settings and providing new opportunities for expanding the role and function of a nurse. Our Bachelor of Science in Nursing program is designed to build upon the foundational knowledge, skills, and attitudes gained through your previous RN studies with a focus on leadership, policy, ethics, and diversity to create a more just and inclusive healthcare environment.

Two additional options are available with our BA in Biology, Pre-Nursing Track and BS in Biology, Health Professions Track.  These programs of study prepare traditional undergraduate students with the science and liberal arts education to transition into BS in Nursing and Accelerated BS in Nursing programs.

We aim to educate nurses with a passion to address health inequities and disparities across communities and to be a positive impact on the lives of those they care for.

Come explore our campus and see why we call the hilltop home!
