Amr Swid is an Associate Professor and MBA Director at St. Edward's University's Munday School of Business. He leads the development and execution of strategic plans to align the program with the University's mission.
I am passionate about experiential and global teaching that connects theory to practice, inspires critical thinking, and prepares students for cross-cultural competencies in a dynamic world. With a commitment to innovation, I integrate technology, service learning, and international collaboration to enhance engagement and create meaningful learning experiences. Dedicated to fostering growth, I continuously refine my methods to empower students and positively influence their careers and lives. With nearly 15 years of academic experience, Amr has taught over 8,000 undergraduate and graduate students and published extensively in organizational psychology, management, and global business in top-tier journals. He serves as Program Chair for an international conference and Associate Editor for two Scopus-indexed journals.
Before joining St. Edward’s in 2018, Amr held leadership roles at the New York Institute of Technology, including Director of Experiential Education, Associate Dean, and Department Assessment Director. His extensive professional experience as a Business Manager at Eli Lilly, combined with his academic expertise, allows him to bridge academia and industry effectively.
Education
Amr holds a B.Sc. in Pharmacy (cum laude), an MBA from Strathclyde Business School, and a Ph.D. in Management from Aston Business School. He is a certified experiential educator, a licensed pharmacist in multiple countries, and has consulted and trained for government agencies and private enterprises in Bahrain and New York.
