Dr. Long is an associate professor of political science, specializing in American politics.

Dr. Long began his academic career in Louisiana, arriving at St. Edward's University in 2009. While here, he has taught courses on American political institutions and the public policy process, as well as contributing to the general education curriculum. His research primarily examines various aspects of congressional elections, though he continues to be interested in the domestic sources of foreign policy. He is the faculty sponsor for Pi Sigma Alpha, the national political science honor society, as well as the College Democrats. He taught in Angers, France in 2012 and looks forward to the opportunity to teach in other countries in the future.
