'Manny' Chavez, founder and owner of Harvard Manufacturing Texas,
has been named to the St. Edwardês University Board of Trustees.
Chavez
is founder and owner of Harvard Manufacturing Texas, a rapidly growing
company that specializes in outsourced assembly, testing, distribution
and installation services for telecommunications providers. Chavez
began Harvard Manufacturing in 1997 after serving as an engineer
and high-level executive at several companies including IBM, Siemens
ROLM, Hayes Electronics and CompuAdd Corp.
Chavez
received his undergraduate and graduate degree in engineering from
the University of Texas at El Paso and completed the Advanced Management
Program at Harvard University.
Chavez
has received many awards and recognition in the business and community
arenas, including the 2000 National Businessman of the Year Award
from the U. S. Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.
St.
Edwardês University is an independent Catholic liberal arts university
of 3,800 students in Austin. It was founded by the Congregation
of Holy Cross.
