AUSTIN,TEXASThe
Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) Professional Certification
Board has awarded Mollie O'Hara Butler the professional designation
of Certified Fund Raising Executive. Butler joins more than 4,000
professionals around the world who hold the CFRE designation.
Butler
serves as director of development for annual giving at St. Edward's
University, a position that directs the President's Associates program
and leads the annual giving team. She brings experience from a variety
of annual giving programs, alumni and external relations, and major
gift solicitation. Butler earned her bachelor's degree in international
studies at Southwestern University.
Individuals
granted the CFRE credential have met a series of standards set by
the CFRE Board which include tenure in the profession, education,
professional achievements and a commitment to service to nonprofit
organizations. They have agreed to uphold a code of ethics and the
Donor Bill of Rights. Additionally, candidates must pass a written
examination testing the knowledge, skills and abilities required
of a fundraising executive.
The
CFRE Professional Certification Program is an independent credentialing
program conducted in cooperation with leading philanthropic associations.
The CFRE Board is comprised of representatives from various types
of fundraising settings and also includes members of the public
representing the interests of donors.
St.
Edward's University is an independent, Catholic liberal arts university
of 3,800 students in Austin. It was founded by the Congregation
of Holy Cross.
