Scholarships
Boren Undergraduate Study Abroad Scholarships
Study-abroad funding ($8,000 for a summer, $10,000 for a semester, or $20,000 for a full academic year) to sophomore, junior and senior U.S. citizens who study outside of Western Europe, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. One-year service obligation to U.S. government in a position with national security responsibilities. Students need language aptitude and commitment to public service. Deadline: February.
Barry M. Goldwater Scholarships
Undergraduate tuition, fees, books, and room and board, up to a maximum of $7,500 annually for rising college juniors and seniors who have outstanding potential and intend to pursue careers in mathematics, the natural sciences, or engineering. Deadline: January.
Harry S. Truman Scholarship
$30,000 for graduate school in public service fields. Students must be juniors at time of selection. If chosen, students must work in public service for three years after graduate school. Deadline: February.
Morris K. Udall Undergraduate Scholarships
Earn $5000 a year and conference involvement for sophomores or juniors with a demonstrated commitment to careers related to the environment. Nominees must have at least a 3.0 GPA and record of service and leadership. Deadline: March.
Meet Our First Truman Scholar
Victoria Ochoa received a $30,000 scholarship for graduate school and other resources to prepare her for a career in public service.
