Tuition Refund Stipulations

Dropping courses or withdrawing from the university will not automatically absolve you of responsibility for your educational expenses. Dropping or withdrawing before the dates listed below will reduce your balance by the amount listed, but may not remove all charges. The university does not offer any exceptions or take into account any extenuating circumstances for refunds outside of this refund schedule, though we do encourage all students to consider tuition insurance (see below). Any unpaid balances owed to the university will be subject to late penalty fees and assignment to a collection agency.

An Extremely Important Notice For Financial Aid Recipients

In accordance with federal, state, and university guidelines, students who receive financial assistance and withdraw from any or all of their coursework may have some or all of their assistance returned to the original funding sources. As a result, students who withdraw will more than likely owe a substantial balance to the university (due payable immediately).

In addition, students who completely withdraw from all their coursework during a semester will lose eligibility for future financial assistance through the university.

Tuition Insurance

Through GradGuard, St. Edward’s offers a tuition insurance plan as added protection for students and families. This plan can reimburse your non-refundable tuition and housing costs after an unexpected withdrawal for a covered illness, injury, mental health disorder, and more.

Room and Board

The university will use the traditional undergraduate refund dates and apply those percentages to the unused value of housing and meal plans.
